venire
The panel of citizens called for jury service from which a jury will be selected.
venue
The particular county, city or geographical area in which a court with jurisdiction may hear and determine a case.

verdict
Formal decision made by a jury, read before a court, and accepted by the judge.
voir dire
To speak the truth. Process in which prospective jurors are questioned to determine whether they can perform their duties in an impartial manner.

valid contract
An agreement resulting in an obligation that is legally enforceable.
values
Beliefs or standards considered worth-while, and from which a society derives its moral rules.

vicarious liability
Charging a negligent act of one person to another.
virus
A program or selection of code that is loaded onto your computer system without your knowledge and runs against your wishes.

void contract
A contract that is not enforceable from the beginning because it lacks one of the requirements of a valid contract.
voidable contract
An agreement that can be rejected by one of the parties for a legally acceptable reason.
